I used to do that

January 14th, 2011

Mabel has discovered the joy of my old stool. She has had great fun so far pushing it around the living room. I introduced her to turning it upside down and pushing it around today which she loved, especially when she realised she could put all her gubbins in it and push them around to.

Then I showed her the ultimate, sitting in it upside down! I have clear memories of doing this when I was little, although I was a bit older and my memories are tinged with panic of not being able to get out of it! She doesn’t have that problem…yet. (The only downside of sitting in it, is that she realises that she can be pushed and pulled around. Guess who gets that job!)

Breakfast practice

January 13th, 2011

Practicing feeding herself. She’s not very good, but she looks quite pleased with herself. I have no doubt she will get better!

(Please excuse the Boxing Day bib!)

Should I have told her she has yogurt on her nose?

That’s me in the spotlight

January 12th, 2011

First day back at our Wednesday group, and a new fancy location. (Which was lovely, as there was daylight, which we didn’t have at the last place.)

Mabel had literally woken up from a nap when I whisked her out of the cot so she still wasn’t quite with it when we arrived. She was back on full form by the time we left though.

Slight parenting fail

January 12th, 2011

When two rabbits collide.

Oops, both of the Rabbit Rabbit Rabbits ended up downstairs this morning. I froze when I realised, but Mabel carried on regardless. She didn’t even blink.

Does she know? That they aren’t one and the same?

One rabbit?

Or two?

Reading on the move

January 11th, 2011

Mabel loves her buggy book that she got as a Christmas present from The Rhyme Time ladies at the library. In fact she loves all books at the moment. On the move, or stationary.

Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit returns

January 8th, 2011

Welcome home Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit. Mabel’s rabbit took a short break at Gran and Grandpa’s house following our Christmas visit. He decided to fall down the side of the bed and we didn’t realise! Luckily we have two (shhh, don’t tell Mabel!) He arrived home safe and well this morning and she didn’t even blink when I swapped him with the other one who was in desperate need of a wash, having been covered in carrot and coriander soup yesterday. I am on a mission to buy a third, you can never be too careful!

In the bag…

January 7th, 2011

…out of the bag.

Mabel’s tea set, which was a birthday present off Uncle James, Auntie Jo, Felix and Betsy has been a great hit! She has yet to make me a cuppa, but she loves to take each piece out of the bag and once empty, put them back in. Again. And again. And again. I blame Felix and his love of carrying stuff in bags.

Mabelised!

January 6th, 2011

All was quiet. How can that be? Oh yes, Mabel had got her hands on a packet of (new and very full) wipes and was carefully pulling them out one by one. This is known in our house as something being Mabelised. Tissues are the common victim.

And in other news, she walks! Like a zombie for now, but I am sure she will grow out of that? Won’t she????
